Meet my friend,Isabel Sylvie Melles Taberner. Issy, everyone; everyone, Issy.
Aloha, Bonjour, Hola, Salutations! Isabel Sylvie Melles Taberner is far too long, so you’re all more than welcome to call me Bel. I hail from San Jose, Costa Rica, (disclaimer: I know, I definitely don’t look Latin…), but I’ve been residing in messy, beautiful Melbourne for 11 years now. My mind operates with organized creative chaos. I’d love to swap brains with Wes Anderson, or Justin Vernon.
I’m trying to bring back (overuse) the phrase, “That’s not a thing.” Trust me, try it out, it’s applicable in all situations, and very useful in playful arguments with your mum. If I were a television show, I’d be in something they show on SBS around 2am, you know, it’s kind of obscure, but quirky, has some pretty cool messages at the end, but confuses you for about 70% of the viewing time. If nothing were impossible, I’d be able to fly, see you later Qantas airline tax prices. That way, I could definitely tick off some awesome sights on my Bucket List, and I’d be able to meet some amazing strangers to swap stories with.
I’m being interviewed because Hannah, and I’s rad friendship has been God inspired and pretty special since the beginning, and God’s been awesome enough to bless us with some cool talents to share and swap. I’m passionate about (this is going to be super lame, are you ready for it?) L O V E. The most inexplicable, powerful, healing gift we have in our world, and one of the most awesome symbols of God in our lives.
The coolest thing I’ve done so far… you’re going to have to ring around my friends and take a poll to see which of my crazy schemes has paid off best. The greatest thing I want to achieve is to reach the end of my life and know that I grasped each moment for all it contained. Regrets, ain’t nobody got time for dat.
The following things are important: fresh chocolate chip cookies, telling the people who matter how much they change your life, roadtrips, sunsets, sunrises, giving every moment and encounter your best, listening to your soul, and let’s not forget these three ones: faith, hope and love. The following things aren’t important: impressing people, labels, achieving your perfect body (lets’ be honest, food tastes better than gym sweat), holding onto your mistakes, and not allowing yourself to reinvent who you want to be.
I contribute snaps, occasional witticisms, forehead kisses and brownies to the K I N G D O M.
